Instructional Design

Steve Jobs said, “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” Instructional designers ensure that learning works!

Connecting Learners and Content

Yogi Berra said, “You’ve got to be very careful if you don’t know where you are going, because you might not get there.” In education, learning objectives tell us where we want to go. But, are those objectives quality? Will the learning activities enable us to get there? Do assessments truly measure if learners have achieved the objectives? Instructional design is the practice of creating learning materials that meet students’ learning needs. Instructional designers are the professionals responsible for ensuring that in learning we don’t only know where we want to go, but we know how to get there. Well designed learning is a home run or a win for all involved.
